Boutique forest escape with spiritual flavor and stunning view of Karekare. Sacred Earth is a luxury retreat in protected regional park Waitakere Ranges on Auckland’s West Coast with natural waterfalls, private swimming hole and easy bush walk to world famous Karekare Beach.

about the project
Together with Giorgia Boitano we had the honor to create a press kit for the retreat. While she was capturing the place in words, I went around with my camera to find the best shots. Since the retreat is open for both, the silence seeker and the spiritual practitioner, our work also had to aim in two slightly different directions.
It was an quite intense time getting the chance to interview so many interesting people from the community inside the retreat. One of them was Matua Louis Kareopa, who shared the story about his conceptual wooden artwork in the third video.
